SEO Specialist
What does a SEO Specialist do?
Where should we start? A SEO Specialist makes the analysis, spots the opportunities, and suggests changes to content team. A content specialist then implements the changes. See yourself as the master brain in our SEO work with a team of hands to do the actual changes. You follow up on changes, track results and teach the Content Specialists best practices. You host regular meetings with the team and you stay on top of all the latest SEO trends.
Now, this might seem like a long list (almost like a SERP right?) but it’s better to be honest about it. This is a demanding, but also very rewarding role.
Stuff you will be doing:
- Analyse our websites to find content gaps, keyword opportunities and other onpage improvements that you forward to our content specialists and add to their backlog;
- Link building, both yourself and via agencies. We believe in white hat and mixing agencies with our own effort has proven to be a good tactic;
- Summarize and analyse data from 7 different countries and 2 brands (in total 14 websites);
- Inspire Content Specialists to always improve and try new things and host training sessions with the team to learn them new stuff;
- Follow up on targets with the team and suggest improvements;
- Work on our SEO processes internally;
- Work with our Product and Development department to develop new SEO features and make sure new features are SEO proof;
- With the help from our Product and Development team you improve the technical side of SEO on our platforms;
- Create and execute on strategic plans for SEO.
On top of this you work with other departments on projects where SEO plays a role, for example with Digital Marketing. Your targets will be, among others, on our revenue from organic search and rankings.
What does the team look like?
You work in between of Digital and Content Marketing but belong to the Content team. The team consists of 2 Content Specialists for France (Sarah & Océane), Karoline who handles the German websites, the Netherlands (Melanie and Susanne), our new E-mail Specialist, and you, our new SEO specialist. The team is managed by Fredrik (based in Sweden and with extensive SEO experience). The team works closely together and has lots of experience in travel.
What we like you to have?
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience as SEO specialist within B2C;
- You speak and write fluently in either Dutch, German, Swedish or French and can communicate easily in English;
- A brain that thinks in numbers and positions.
Ideally you..
- Are an excellent communicator and a team player;
- Contribute to a fun working environment;
- Are a doer and finishes things you started;
- Know what SERP, EAT, Crawl budget, Rankbrain, Fred, Panda, importXML all mean by heart;
- Have excellent analysis skills and very good knowledge about excel or google sheets;
- Have experience in Semrush, ahrefs or similar tools;
- Have extensive SEO knowledge from both onpage, offpage and the technical side;
- Are organised.

Where are we?
Our office (HQ) is located directly in the city center of Haarlem, just next to the Central Station, only 10 minutes by train from Amsterdam. We have a Stockholm office as well. We accept applications for both offices.
