Our eCommerce business has grown significantly over the last five years and we have ambitious targets to further accelerate this growth over the next years. As part of our Digital Paid/Owned/Earned marketing mix strategy we are focused on driving diversified traffic and revenue growth and are looking to upweight our SEO activities. This role reports to the Brand Marketing Director as part of the digital marketing team.

The newly created position of SEO Manager will be responsible for building and executing our SEO strategy based on business growth objectives and in collaboration with key business partners. They will act as an internal ambassador for SEO knowledge and capabilities building, elevating SEO with in the marketing mix, and oversee the management of our SEO agency and results. The role is responsible for supporting in achieving traffic, revenue and EBIT targets across the region as well as in key markets, and will be the main point of contact for SEO in Europe.

While this role is fully focused on the European marketplace and will involve close partnership with the European levi.com team, integrated media and brand marketing teams, there is also close collaboration required with Levi’s Global Product, Engineering and Technology Teams in San Francisco, Global Marketing Teams, Global/European Consumer Insights, Local marketing teams and other regional ecommerce teams. Focus will be on ensuring that best-in-class SEO thinking is being implemented into our website’s technical capabilities, that SEO is being embedded across content development, that we are leveraging local capabilities to maximise relevancy and results and that we are sharing best practices between teams.

About The Job

  • Lead SEO strategy and execution for levi.com with the objective of increasing organic traffic, search ranking and maximizing ROI.
  • Build a site wide content & technical strategy and three-year roadmap for SEO, aligning with merchandising, content, product, buying, trading, PR and ecommerce and marketing teams, with a focus on supporting business growth targets and marketing mix objectives
  • Partner with front end, merchandising, media, PR and content teams in the execution of SEO specific strategies as part of our always on marketing efforts and key brand and commercial campaigns.
  • Collect data and insights from Omniture and set up structured reporting, measurement and KPI approach to monitor results and update internal teams on progress
  • Contribute to the development (and optimization) of internal process for communication and partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Partner with agency partner, dev-ops and engineering teams to ensure the implementation of technical enhancements and address SEO issues.
  • Optimise process and ways of working for the implementation of back end SEO infrastructure such as content containers, meta data, impexes, metadata, etc
  • Work cross-functionally with internal marketing teams to drive SEO performance across all content platforms including Social, YouTube, Blog.
  • Partner with Performance Media lead to define Search strategy and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working with organic and paid agency partners to unlock incrementality
  • Launch SEO test and learn program to grow site visits YoY
  • Provide traffic/budget/revenue forecast for Ecommerce on a yearly and monthly basis.
  • Identify opportunities and define roadmap for SEO automation in terms of tools, reports and dashboards

The Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience in working in SEO within a fast-paced digital marketing agency and/or ecommerce environment
  • Is an all round expert in SEO, including technical knowledge, familiarity with the web development process and SEO best practices as part of this
  • A strong communicator with a commercial instinct, proactive approach, and team-first mentality who finds influencing stakeholders comes naturally
  • Deep knowledge of tools like BrightEdge, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, MOZ, Keyword Planner, SEMrush
  • Knowledge of HTML, DOM structure, CSS, JavaScript, headless eCommerce and page load speed best practices
  • Proficient in number crunching in Excel and experience with analytics tool such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio
  • A digital-first thinker who is able to talk confidently about SEO across different levels of the organization and with people with both high technical skill sets and those with basic digital expertise.
